The Preventing Overdoses and Saving Lives Act

Former Mrs. Florida Janet Barnard (L) and me (R)

This weekend  I was able to meet with former Mrs. Florida Janet Barnard.  We talked about the good work the Victoria’s Voice Foundation is doing.  The opioid crisis continues to be one of the top domestic issues our nation is facing.

One easy thing you can do to fight the opioid crisis is write a simple letter.  You can write your representative in Congress to let them know you support H.R.5224 – Preventing Overdoses and Saving Lives Act of 2021.  This is a “bill to create a grant program that allows states and localities to conduct research on the opioid crisis, create a strategic plan on their response to the opioid crisis, and implement co-prescribing in their jurisdiction.” (1)  This legislation is bi-partisan, introduced by Rep. French Hill (R-AR) and Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI).
